Sky studied music at Mt. Hood Community College where he learned and performed in an environment that was a true hub for Jazz music. Also, he privately studied from the likes of Christopher Woitach, Dan Gildea, Susie Jones, and Dan Balmer among others. He is an extremely talented musician with both creative artistry and technical skill.
He specializes in multiple genres including Jazz, Blues, Swing, Bossa Nova, Funk, and Rock and Roll. With 20 years of teaching and performance experience he is an expert in his knowledge of improvisation, chord melody, bass line construction and application, jazz band charts, passing audition materials, scales & modes, rhythm & comping, theory, and much more.
Descending from a long line of musicians and instructors, Sky began study of the guitar 25 years ago and has acquired knowledge from distinguished professional musicians all over Oregon. Sky provides self tailored professional instruction for each individual student using method & technique, always keeping each students' unique musical tastes and goals in the forefront. Sky has been an Instructor with Weather's Music Corp., Music Garden Studios, Songbird Studios, including his own private lesson studios. He has received multiple awards for his performances at The Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, Reno Jazz Festival, and Guitar-mageddon competition. He continues to teach, perform, compose, and record, throughout the Salem and Portland area.

Ms. Carey is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and now resides in Salem, Oregon. She regularly performs with the Newport Symphony Orchestra in Newport, Oregon. Erin also performs in local chamber ensembles including the Laurel Chamber Players and Slugger O'Toole, an Irish inspired band, both based in Springfield, Oregon. Erin owns and operates a private music studio, Vivace Music Studio, working with students in Eugene, Springfield, Salem and Silverton. She is currently available on Saturdays for lessons at ABC Music. Ms. Carey holds a B.A. in music from University of Oregon and M.S. in Arts Administration from the University of Oregon. When not performing or teaching violin, Erin can be found in the garden, working on a new culinary pursuit or hiking in Oregon's beautiful natural environment. Lessons offered: Violin, Viola, Beginning to intermediate Ukulele and beginning Cello.

Rachel received her Master's degree in music in 2017 from Portland State University, where she was a graduate teaching assistant in music theory and history. Rachel has been playing, reading, and writing music in a variety of styles, with an emphasis on classical technique, for over two decades. She is a registered Suzuki teacher, but will tailor lessons to suit each student's individual learning style.

Mark Hernandez cut his teeth in the Salem-Keizer Schools Music Program. From Middle School through High School he was actively drumming in Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band and Swing Choir, as well as studying privately with a prominent Salem area drummer. He then went on to play in professional bands in Salem, Portland, Sacramento, Berkley, San Francisco, L.A. and San Diego. His cultural background has led to him working as a Latin, Reggae and Jazz percussionist. Mark is now offering private drum lessons at ABC Music and hopes to carry on the tradition of mentoring and encouraging aspiring drummers.
