Owen Tenbrook

Owen’s parents will tell you he was born to drum and has had an innate sense of rhythm since he was very young. He is an avid classic rock and jazz enthusiast who has worked hard to hone his skills and learn all the percussion instruments, with a special focus on drum set and mallet percussion techniques. He has been involved with numerous music ensembles of various genres, both in and out of school, including a time when he himself was a student at RiverCity in the (Tuesday) Rockers, Royals and Rebels programs.

In April of 2023, Owen graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. from George Fox University, majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies for both Music and Audio Production for Cinematic Arts. His classical musical education in college made him a versatile multi percussionist, but also gave him training and experience in the principles and techniques of sound recording, mixing, and editing for music and films. During his time at George Fox University, he acted as an audio producer on various music recording projects and composer/sound designer on student films shown at school festivals. 

Owen is delighted to return to RiverCity in 2023 as a staff member, as he continues to work toward his dream of being a professional drummer and part time music producer. Owen will be assisting with different RiverCity ensembles at rehearsals and shows, where you will see him either at the drum kit or behind the soundboard helping mix the ensembles while they rehearse or perform on stage. 

When he’s not at RiverCity, Owen can be found working on independent recording projects at his home rehearsal/recording studio. He is also the drummer and founder of a new Brit Rock cover band, Owen And The War Pigs, and co-founder of a Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute band, Californication.
